As the Senior Security Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the Ministry to ensure strong information security practices are integrated into various key programs. In this senior role, you use your expertise to ensure all activity conforms to corporate security policies and legislation, and meets the highest security standards for protecting sensitive information.

It is the role of the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training to ensure that B.C.’s post-secondary system delivers value while providing educational and training opportunities for young people entering the workforce and existing workers who need to upgrade their skills. The Technology and Business Transformation Branch (TBTB) is responsible for providing innovative, timely and reliable digital services. We assess and advise on IMIT-related opportunities and issues and provide technical leadership and policy direction for the organization in all aspects of data security.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in the computer science field.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience developing and managing data security frameworks/architectures (i.e. any work experience during education or certification), in a Microsoft and/or open source software environment.
     

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Professional designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or equivalent.
  • Experience contributing to security architecture processes that enable the enterprise to develop and implement secure cloud solutions and capabilities that clearly align threat protections with the business and technology drivers.
  • Experience managing and operating modern security infrastructure systems.
  • Experience conducting complex information security threat and risk assessments.
  • Experience with Agile Development processes in a CI/CD environment.
