Social Worker
Hourly Wage: $35.79-40.89
Location: Nigel House (Licensed Residential Brain Injury Program) – Saanich
Position #/ Schedule: 107356 – days per week to be determined, 21 hours per week (0.60 FTE)
Status: Regular Part Time

The Nigel Program is a licensed care home and program for adults with complex medical needs. Care at Nigel Program is supported by a clinical interdisciplinary team providing nursing care, personal care, occupational and physical therapy, social work, dietary services and recreational therapy.
The Social Worker is responsible for the planning, developing and implementation of social work services to meet the psychosocial needs of residents and their families. The Social Worker works under the supervision of the Home Manager, and works in collaboration with other health care and support service team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from an accredited School of Social Work
- Registered, or eligible for registration with the BC College of Social Workers
- Two years’ recent related clinical experience with mental health and harm reduction programs
- Understanding complex nature of brain injury (interventions)
- Negative TB Screen
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of local community resources related to mental health and brain injury programming
- Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary team members;
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Ability to teach and facilitate groups;
- Ability to work under minimal supervision;
- Ability to utilize computer applications including email and word processing;
- Ability to navigate overlapping health systems to access best desirable supports
