– Part Time, Multiple Positions Donald Gordon Conference Centre, Queen’s University Starting Wage at $15.12 / hourly Part Time Front Desk Clerk to join our team, must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
The successful candidate will be able to serve our guests in a very professional yet personable manner.
Duties & Responsibilities: Apply basic math skills.
Prepare guest folios
– checking for accuracy in postings to each folio.
Standard check in and out procedures.
Provide all guests with courteous, professional service during check-in, check-out, telephone inquiries, and all other contact with guests.
Process reservations.
Answer the switchboard and direct calls in a proficient, courteous manner.
Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
Communicate all guest, staff and hotel related matters to management.
Maintains customers’ privacy.
Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
Must have a calm presence to handle a number of tasks simultaneously.
Ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
Ability to think independently and make sound judgment calls Qualifications Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong customer service background Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure Must be trained in and be comfortable with computer systems.
Knowledge of FiveStar an asset.
Capable of working with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preference given to those with previous Hotel Front Desk experience Excellent organizational skill Able to work unsupervised Demonstrates initiative Motivated, intuitive, decisive, confident Strong technical accounting knowledge Able to gain respect of members of department/operations Accommodations for job applicants with disabilities are available upon request.
The finalist candidate for this position will need to complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check and a Vulnerable Sector Screening (if the operations we service require this).
